In Home Visitation Program

Pictou County, [February 13, 2025) ] – Pictou County Palliative Care Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Francesca Couture as the new In-Home Volunteer Visitation Program Coordinator.
PCPCares is a dedicated volunteer board with a general membership committed to supporting community-based palliative care services. Through this new In-Home Volunteer Visitation Program, we will provide compassionate visitation and support to individuals living with life-threatening palliative illnesses, in the comfort of their own homes.
Francesca brings much enthusiasm, dedication, and a deep commitment to fostering meaningful connections between volunteers and those in need. With “a passion for supporting others and one who thrives in roles that require organization, communication and care ,as volunteer coordinator I will combine my nurturing nature and strong multitasking skills to foster community involvement and create impactful volunteer opportunities “.
Francesca is a devoted wife and mother of a lively 3-year old daughter, who brings “joy and purpose to my daily life”. She aims to ensure that “volunteers feel valued, empowered, and supported as they make a lasting positive impact on the community”. Francesca brings to this position her work experience within palliative and medical office environments.
This initiative was the result of outcomes identified in a strategic planning process with PCPCares board members.
It is a two-year pilot project, made possible through the generous support of the Pictou County Palliative Care Board, Aberdeen Health Foundation, and the Pictou County Men’s Prostate Group.
